API
What is an API?
An API is a fixed entry point that software opens up to other software, so systems can request and send data without a person in between.
Almost every modern system has one: your CRM, your accounting, your web shop. Through the API you can, for example, request all open invoices or put a new customer straight into the CRM.
APIs are the building blocks of system integration. AI works with them too: an AI agent uses APIs to fetch data and take actions in your systems.
If a system has no API, there are other routes, such as exports or RPA. How we build integrations is covered under connecting your systems.
