Process optimisation
What is process optimisation?
Process optimisation is the targeted improvement of a business process so that it runs faster, cheaper or with fewer errors, based on measurement rather than gut feeling.
Process optimisation starts with measuring: how much volume runs through a process, how long each step takes, where work waits and where it goes wrong. Only then can you see which improvement delivers the most. Where AI saves the most time or errors in your processes is what we map in an AI audit.
The well-known methods, such as Lean, Six Sigma and the PDCA cycle, help you find waste and variation. Process mining does the same based on data: it reads the log files of your systems and shows how a process really runs, including the detours that appear on no process map. You then choose per bottleneck: cut, standardise, connect or automate.
At Victa we did this in a five-day embedded pilot: interviews and process observations in Finance and HR, an analysis of the bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, and within the same week a working proof of concept for the most promising case. The difference from a classic improvement programme is that the solution does not stay on paper. See also business process management.
