EVOKE makes finance a steering function again

EVOKE is a joint venture between Innoworks and Ficare, built to make finance radically simpler for Dutch SMBs (running AFAS). Not by building yet another dashboard, but by partly automating the finance operation while making it easier to understand. EVOKE executes, you decide.

Innoworks facilitated this project from A to Z. From product strategy and UI to the full software build (integrations, data layer, controls, AI layer) and the website too. Everything was set up end to end and is continuously developed further.

The real gain is in time, calm and reliability

In finance, an unnecessary amount of time goes into repetitive work: checks, reconciliations, investigation, and explaining the numbers over and over again. EVOKE tackles that at the root:

• Up to 40 hours per month less manual checking through 15 core controls and automatic flagging

• A structurally lighter month-end close, with the product goal of automating more than 60% of the close

• Less rework through quality checks and anomaly detection, so errors surface earlier

That gives back not only hours, but also something that is often more costly: less close-out stress, less rework, and faster decisions because you no longer wait until “the numbers finally add up”.

AI CFO, but accessible to every SMB

The vision is simple: most SMBs don't have a CFO team with five analysts. Yet they have the same need: real-time grip, reliable numbers, and clear explanation.

EVOKE makes that AI CFO layer reachable through co-intelligence: the machine does the heavy, repeatable work; people stay in control of interpretation and choices.

And because finance has no room for black-box answers, EVOKE is built with a white-box approach: explanation, traceability and human override are at the core of the product experience.

How it works, in plain language

• EVOKE connects to AFAS and builds a unified data layer: one source of truth

• It runs controls automatically, logs anomalies and shows where they come from (down to entry level)

• You ask questions in plain language about the balance sheet, P&L and cash flow, and get an answer with supporting evidence

What this project shows

EVOKE is not a standalone agent. It is a complete platform that has been built from A to Z and is being developed further, with the end goal: finance that no longer explains after the fact, but can steer today.
